Hellloooo, anyone out there?
Folks, it’s been a long time. So long, in fact, that I was surprised that I didn’t kick up actual dust when I logged in to post this. I almost expected my blog to yell at me in shame for ignoring it so long.
There will be no apologies though for neglecting this blog like an unwanted fairytale stepchild! The point now is that I’m back and ready to work on it again. I’m actually excited about blogging in a way I haven’t felt for a long time, and I have a lot of ideas for where I want to take this blog next.
We all know what a difficult year this has been. Along with everything else, traveling isn’t really happening right now. At least not for me. And probably not for you, either. Which means that I’m going to have to change my focus on my little corner of the internet here.
I’ll still talk about travel a bit, but it will be about things that I can do close to home. While I know that there are some people who are traveling around the world right now, that’s not feasible for me. So here are some of the things I will be talking about instead:
I’ve talked before about having anxiety. I’ve also dealt with depression for a good chunk of my life. I’ll be blogging more about mental health topics, including things that I do to help manage my own. This year has brought on its own set of unique struggles which I want to talk about, because my guess is I’m not alone.
Writing and books
I’m a writer and storyteller first and foremost so I’ll be talking more about writing. I’ll probably be focusing on advice and tips, but if there is anything in particular you’d like to see, let me know!
Chronic pain and other health topics
I’ve written a little bit before here about my chronic pain story, and I’ll be talking more about that in the future. Also, I have a goal to focus more on my health (physical and mental), and one of the reasons for that is so I will have an easier time traveling in the future. I’m hoping to document that process here.
Budget and finance
This last couple of years has been difficult for me financially. My husband and I have recently started to get really serious about budgeting and saving, and while I am not in any way, shape, or form an expert, I thought it might be helpful to others if I talk about our journey to become more financially stable.
That’s all for now. I’ll be back with more posts soon. My goal right now is at least two a week; we’ll see how that goes.
