Welcome! My name is Gracie.

I was in the third grade when I first began dreaming of world travel. We were learning about Venice, and we read an article on how the city was slowly sinking. After seeing a picture of the city I thought to myself, “I have to go there before it disappears.” (In my mind, it was going to vanish any day. Luckily, that turned out not to be the case, since I haven’t made it there yet!)

Arcos de la Frontera, Spain

My desire for travel has only grown since then. While I’m not constantly on-the-go, I take trips when I can. I also try to explore places that are close to me in my home state of Washington. Often, I think, there are plenty of amazing places in our own backyard, but we don’t realize it because we are so distracted by thinking about places that seem more “exotic” and “exciting.”

Whidbey Island, Washington

Here, I will talk mainly about my travel experiences. You’ll find a mix of travel stories as well as tips and advice. I also plan on talking about mental health and travel, as I have dealt with anxiety and depression for most of my life and it definitely has an effect on the way that I view the world and approach travel.

I hope you decide to join me on my adventures.
